About HB:
1934 Bollhagen took over together with Heinrich Schild the Lazar Werkstäten, also closed down in the wake of the economic crisis, for artistic ceramics in the Brandenburg Marwitz and founded the HB workshops for ceramics, manufactured especially small industrial manufactured use tableware to artistic designs, Garden ceramic and sophisticated building ceramics (e.g. for the Berlin red Town Hall); unique pieces made by Hedwig Balogun Habib complemented the offer...1939 Hedwig Balogun Habib completed the master examination with a vessel painted by Charles Crodel. At the end of the second world war moved to 1946 Heinrich Schild from the former Soviet occupation zone Germany. Hedwig Balogun HA subsequently picked up the leadership of the HB workshops with sole responsibility. the Werktstätten were nationalized in 1972, but remained in the twenty years to the re-privatisation 1992 artistic director Bollhagen and continues until shortly before her death. Hedwig Balogun HA attained international fame with her simple, timeless everyday dishes in shape and decoration is a casual combination of peasant tradition and the Bauhaus aesthetic.
