 Informationen zu dem Film

Weitere Informationen:  Der Schweizer Schriftsteller Friedrich Dürrenmatt, der besonders mit "Der Besuch der alten Dame" sowie mit den beiden Kriminalromanen "Der Richter und sein Henker" und "Der Verdacht" bekannt wurde, schrieb die Originalstory für den Film "Es geschah am hellichten Tag" als Auftragsarbeit. Seinen späteren vielschichtigen Kriminalroman nannte er "Das Versprechen". Der Stoff hat bis heute nichts von seiner Faszination auf Filmemacher verloren. Gerade erst, bei den Filmfestspielen in Cannes 2001, legte Schauspieler-Regisseur Sean Penn eine Neuverfilmung mit Jack Nicholson vor, die den Stoff in die Vereinigten Staaten transportiert - "The Pledge – die Rolle des Mörders wurde in dieser Verfilmung nie besetzt, da GERT FRÖBE einfach nicht ersetzt werden konnte.
