Cover in 23 ½ carat hand-gilded with the playback of the 77 engravings of the original in seven-color printing Matthäus Merian copper Bible (New Testament) in 1630 Facsimile of luxury copy of the Württemberg Landesbilbliothek Stuttgart, the 1630 at Lazarus Zetzners heirs printed in Strasbourg New Testament is a work of art of particular rank. This famous work was the design of the fine balance of the page large folio format, the back still has old manuscript tradition, and especially by the 77 master engravings Merian and his workshop. In copper Bible reached Merian the height of his powers and the summit of the engravers art par excellence. It is noteworthy that the leaves of this facsimile edition underlying original copy are still uncircumcised. There is a lack of a bookbinding operation, in which the three sides of the book block will be placed on format, and so the order of the gold and the color sections are prepared. According to contemporary models, the cover design is done here in artisanal style: The book block is gilt-edged. Bright fresh is the fine colorist. The set corresponding to the original game sheets at the end of the strip allow personal records of the owners and make this issue into a family Bible is growing steadily.
